When working with a broker, we take a support role, following the lead of our broker relationship. We can build and support things in the background, sit alongside the broker, or own tasks as the broker desires.
To start, we use a discovery/planning template to really understand the history, status, and goals of each client. Some brokers have told us that our using this process has allowed them to uncover things about each client they did not know.
Then we construct an enrollment and coverage proposal for the broker to bless and then for the client to consider. This includes:
Underwriting offers such as guaranteed issue amounts or waived items
Coverage designs
A benefit analysis if or as needed
Complimentary offerings
Details of how the enrollment will be conducted
Enrollment technology plan with proposed schedule (i.e. Employee Navigator, Gathr, or . . .)
Plus how new hires, acquisitions and next year’s open enrollment will be handled.
Throughout this process, we involve more than one member of our team so there is redundancy when providing support. During the enrollment, we provide reporting or updates as needed.
Lastly we create a record of what was done so we can review successes and challenges to continually improve.
